Full-day tour of three of the most important Basilicas in Rome with private vehicle and private English-speaking guide.
In the morning pick up at 10 am at your hotel/apartment and transfer to the Basilica of St John Lateran, also known as the Cathedral of Rome. Mother church of the Diocese of Rome, it is the first of the four great papal basilicas and the oldest and most important basilica in the West. If you desire you can visit also the Scala Santa that, according to tradition, it is the staircase Jesus climbed to reach the room where he was interrogated by Pontius Pilate before his crucifixion.
Your visit continue with St Croce in Gerusalemme Church, one of the seven churches in Rome that form part of the traditional pilgrimage route.
It was conceived from the beginning as a great reliquary, to house precious testimonies of the Passion of Jesus. The Basilica is called “in Jerusalem” because of the consecrated earth from Mount Calvary that was placed at the base of its foundations.
Free time for lunch in the city center (lunch is not included in the tour cost) and then transfer to St Maria Maggiore Basilica, one of the four papal basilicas in Rome and the only one that has preserved its original early Christian structure, enriched by later additions.
The numerous treasures it contains make Santa Maria Maggiore a place where art and spirituality come together in perfect union, offering the visitor those unique emotions typical of the great works of man inspired by God.
At the end of the visit transfer to your hotel/apartment within 4 pm.
